100% recyclable, plastic-free paper packaging dispensed from compact, easy-to-use systems. From simple pull-and-tear manual dispensers to automatic padded paper machines for maximum protection.
View SystemsPaper void fill is protective packaging material made from recyclable paper, used to fill the empty space inside shipping boxes and prevent products from moving during transit. It comes in several forms — crumpled kraft paper, fan-folded sheets, padded paper cushions and honeycomb wrap — each dispensed from a purpose-built system that sits on or next to your packing bench.
For businesses that want to eliminate plastic from their packaging entirely, paper void fill is the natural choice. It's 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and can go straight into your customer's paper recycling bin. No special collection, no confusion about which bin it goes in, no guilt. That matters more than ever — research consistently shows that consumers prefer to receive packaging they can easily recycle, and paper ticks every box.
Paper void fill makes particular sense for businesses where the unboxing experience matters. Gift companies, premium brands, food and drink businesses, and subscription boxes all benefit from the tactile, natural look and feel of paper versus plastic. There's no static cling, no chemical smell, and the presentation is inherently more appealing than a box full of air pillows or foam chips.
It's also the simplest packaging system to implement. Manual paper dispensers require no electricity — you literally pull the paper through and tear off what you need. There's no training, no maintenance and no consumables beyond the paper rolls themselves. For businesses just starting out or packing low volumes, this is as straightforward as packaging gets.
Ideal for lower demand. Simply pull the paper through the machine and tear off the required amount. No power needed.
Best for: Small businesses, low volume operations, packing areas with no power access
Ideal for higher demand. Press the button or foot pedal and auto-feed the required amount of paper. Fast, consistent and hands-free.
Best for: Growing businesses, fulfilment centres, operations needing consistent output
Ideal for protecting fragile, larger or heavier items. Pre-set the size and quantity of paper pads for efficient packing and maximum protection.
Best for: Fragile items, electronics, glass, ceramics — anything that needs serious cushioning without plastic

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: it depends. Both are excellent solutions, and we sell both because different businesses need different things.
Choose paper void fill if: Your customers specifically want plastic-free packaging, your brand is premium or gift-focused and presentation matters, you need a plastic-free option for regulatory or corporate reasons, or you're packing at low volumes and want the simplest possible system.
Choose air cushions if: Speed and throughput are your priority, you need the lowest possible cost per parcel, storage space is very limited (flat film rolls are more compact than paper rolls), or you need bubble-style protection for fragile items.
Choose both if: You ship a mix of products — some that benefit from paper presentation and some that need the speed and protection of air cushions. Many of our customers use air cushion pillows for general void fill and paper for wrapping or presentation.
